OH YERUSHOLAYIM- Yehuda!- Composed By Robert Gasner, Lyrics By Lonna Ralbag Presser- Oh Yerusholayim

VERSE 1:
We are like weary travelers
Who’ve suffered through the years,
Poland, Russia, Hungary
Brought sorrow, pain and fear.
The Iron Curtain blocked the light,
It seemed so dark at times,
When teaching children Torah
And davening were crimes.

Crushed under the burden,
We cried to him once more,
Hashem answered our prayers with love,
And he opened up the doors.
In search of help we raised our eyes,
And the holy city answered back,

CHORUS 1:
Oh Yerusholayim,
your Holy walls, they comfort me
Oh Yerusholayim,

VERSE 2:
Some people wander endlessly,
A quest throughout their youth.
The answers don’t come easily
When searching for the truth.
Their hearts are filled with emptiness,
Confusion takes its toll,
The journey has to lead somewhere,
To the city of the soul.

King David’s city welcomes all,
Compassionate and kind,
To delve into the holy books,
Achieving peace of mind.
To stand and daven at the wall,
The stones fill all with awe,
This is the place where we belong

CHORUS 2:
Oh Yerusholayim,
your Holy walls enlighten me,
Oh Yerusholayim,

VERSE 3:
The Prophets’ words will come to life,
Their vision true and real.
The blind will gain their sight again,
The sick and frail will heal.
Moshiach soon will lead us home,
We’ve waited for so long,
To fill the holy city’s streets
With laughter, joy and song.

The years of pain will find their end,
The suffering will cease.
The time will come to reunite,
And war will turn to peace.

CHORUS 3:
Oh Yerusholayim,
your Holy walls, they wait for me,
Oh Yerusholayim,

CHORUS 4:
Oh Yerusholayim,
Your city is my destiny,
Oh Yerusholayim,
