DREAMS COME TRUE- Composed By Abie Rotenberg- Version from HASC 27 (Orig. on Journeys 4)
————————————————————————————
Let me tell a tale, I beg you all to listen,
I think you’ll recognize that every word is true.
It’s a story that I’m part of every summer,
And though you may not know it, so are you, so are you.

I lived happily at home with all my siblings,
They were loving and devoted as could be.
But each summer they would head off to the mountains,
To a camp that wasn’t made just quite for me.

CHORUS 1:
How I dreamed that one day we could play together,
Oh, doing all the things that children do.
But I feared that I would have to dream forever,
For only dreamers still believe that dreams come true.
————————————————————————————
But one day my parents came with smiling faces,
And said there’s now a camp just right for you.
Can you imagine how it felt inside me,
Seeing that my dreams were coming true…

Oh, when I arrived at camp, they all embraced me,
Each and every counselor made me feel at home.
Oh, the days were filled with so much fun and laughter,
Not for one moment did I feel alone.
————————————————————————————
CHORUS 2:
How I dreamed that one day we could play together,
Oh, doing all the things that children do.
Now that day has come, and it will last forever,
For I’m a dreamer who believes, that dreams come true.

40 years and counting, begs the question;
Who turned this dream into reality?
It was the passion and devotion of HASC’s founders,
Rabbi Kahn, his wife, and their whole family, oh, their whole family.

With its loving staff and legion of supporters,
And you who’ve come to hear the music play.
You’re all partners in this holy undertaking,
And you’ve earned the right to sing along and say…

CHORUS 3:
How we dreamed that one day they could play together,
Oh, doing all the things that children do.
Now that day has come, and it will last forever,
For we know and we believe,
Yes, I know and I believe,
We’re all dreamers who believe,
that dreams come true.
