AVEIRAH- Country Yossi- Strike Again!
(Originally Elvira- Sung & Composed by Dallas Frazier)

Aveirah,
Aveirah,
Ich hub geteen an Aveirah

Last night I had a dream that scared me out of my mind
I dreamt that I had left the world of living behind
I rose up through the clouds and then an angel in black
He said, “Haha hahaha, you ain’t never goin’ back”.

I said, oy vey, vey vey, vey vey
He said, oy vey, vey vey, vey vey.

Aveirah,
Aveirah,
Ich hub geteen an Aveirah

Inside a giant courtroom, I sat down filled with fear
Avraham and Yitzchak, even Yaakov was there
The prosecuting angel spoke, his words cut like a knife
He said, “I hope you like the movie, boy, ‘cuz this is your life!”

I said, oy vey, vey vey, vey vey
He said, oy vey, vey vey, vey vey.

Aveirah,
Aveirah,
Ich hub geteen an Aveirah

I sat there turning colors as that movie was shown
Everything I’d ever done in secret was known
The prosecuting angel laughed, the jury sat there crying
As fire burst forth from his eyes, he said, “Oh, now, you’re mine!”

I said, oy vey, vey vey, vey vey
He said, oy vey, vey vey, vey vey.

But then an angel dressed in white stood up and took the floor
He held a gleaming golden book I’d never seen before
And in a voice so holy, wow, his eyes shone like the sun
He started reading all the Mitzvos I had ever done.

I said hurray, ray ray, ray ray.
He said hurray, ray ray. ray ray.

Ah Mitzvah,
Ah Mitzvah,
Ich hub geteen ah Mitzvah

And when he finished speakin’, I was shakin’ in my pants
Then the judge said, “It’s real close. Let’s give him one more chance…”
The prosecuting angel sneered and vanished in smoke
And that’s all I remember because then I awoke.
Well, I said Modeh Ani, washed my hands, got out of bed,
Then I kissed my Tzitzis, slipped them over my head,
Then I ran to Shul and davened with Kavannah so new
It’s funny what a simple little dream like that can do…

Aveirah,
Aveirah,
Ich vel nisht teen an Aveirah
